Parque Arauco chooses five international startups to modernize its malls: Which ones are they? Parque Arauco has officially announced the five winning startups of the second edition of its Startup Challenge program. After a rigorous process that attracted 117 applications from 25 countries, the company selected high-impact technological solutions. These innovations will be implemented in the operation, sustainability, and overall experience of its shopping centers in Chile, Peru, and Colombia. The goal is to modernize the industry by integrating talent from the global ecosystem.
Francisco Letelier Ballocchi, Corporate Technology Manager, stated that open innovation is key to enhancing the customer experience. According to the executive, this milestone allows for the validation and scaling of new technologies by identifying real value for the business. The company's digital transformation is closely linked to operational and environmental sustainability challenges. This strategy aims to generate a positive and tangible impact on the people who visit its facilities.
The program was developed in partnership with INNSPIRAL and structured around two key strategic challenges for the company. The first, called Phygital Experience , aims to integrate the physical and digital worlds to improve customer relationships. This initiative seeks to enhance customer loyalty and create a deeply personalized experience for each visitor. In this way, the goal is to make visits to the shopping center increasingly meaningful. Which startups have been selected and what are their pilot projects?
In the area of digital experience, the winners were the Argentinian startup Delfi and the Chilean company Somos Wallet. Delfi uses artificial intelligence to automate commercial content and generate personalized recommendations for consumers in retail. Somos Wallet transforms Apple and Google digital wallets into an active channel for loyalty and communication. This allows for the delivery of digital benefits and the activation of real-time contextual notifications during visits.
For the water challenge, the Chilean companies Zensi and Remote Waters were selected, along with the Peruvian company Energy Cloud. Zensi monitors water and energy consumption in real time using sensors to detect operational anomalies. Remote Waters offers technology for the treatment and reuse of greywater under a circular economy model. Finally, Energy Cloud centralizes water consumption data and provides recommendations for optimizing water use.
The pilot projects will be carried out in strategic assets, such as Parque La Colina in Colombia for Delfi and Somos Wallet. In the Chilean market, Zensi will be implemented in Parque Arauco Kennedy, while Remote Waters will operate in Arauco Maipú. In Peru, the Energy Cloud platform will validate its technology at the Larcomar shopping center , located in Lima. These tests in real-world environments will confirm the effectiveness of each solution.
Implementation will be phased in gradually, following design, execution, and measurement stages according to the pilot methodology. Ricardo Cea of INNSPIRAL commented that this model demonstrates how large corporations can effectively partner with startups. This joint effort represents a step forward in accelerating the adoption of concrete business solutions. The results of these pilots will pave the way for future innovations within the industry.
